A lot of Americans own cabins and second homes in remote areas, and often stock up on hunting / fishing supplies, as well as extra gas and even have ATVs and dirt bikes and snowmobiles on their properties. If you happen to own a remote cabin you hope to make an escape to in the event of a widespread disaster, consider this article as evidence that someone else (with bad intentions) just might beat you to it:
CBS NEWS: Elusive mountain man occupies, robs Utah cabins
You might want to consider safe guarding supplies kept in a cabin / second home by building a small "safe" room well in advance. This is a room that is hidden, the same way that perhaps Europeans had hidden rooms for Jews during World War II.
Or it could simply be a drop site 50 yards from your cabin, dug into the ground, and well concealed. The extreme survivalist may even consider doing this at his primary residence where he lives in Anytown, USA.
Why have your supplies stolen by crooks roaming the neighborhoods when you can keep them safely hidden with just a little manual labor and creative thinking? In a disaster, especially in a world growing in violence like today, there's an additional risk, which is more people are likely more willing to hurt others in the name of survival.
A Dummy Survival Cache
A Dummy Cache is a room in your house that contains some survival supplies, and put together in a way that it looks like all of your supplies. This is for a time such as being robbed by armed thugs, who break into your home at gun point, order you to give them all your food, or else. You plead with them, "please, don't take our food, we need our food to live", but then give in to their order (in a way, that is all an act) and you then lead them to your dummy cache, which has some food. A lot of it can be expired food in fact, they may not be smart enough (or care) to check the expiration dates. So, at this point, the thugs take your dummy cache, believing they've just cleaned you out, and then they're on their way.
But aren't most people good people? Surely, most people wouldn't do something so criminal as to rob a family at gun point for food? Well, I've got two words for you, and why you might want to re-think the good qualities of citizens in your community. Those two words are ...
The Tribulation
Christians believe the world is entering the end times, and they point to the nation of Israel and the Islamic nations sworn to destroy it as evidence that Bible prophecy is taking place. Whether you're a Christian or not, it's a valid argument. The prophecies are there in the Bible, and it's a miracle that the nation of Israel exists today, as it didn't exist for nearly 2,000 years after Jerusalem fell to it's enemies a few decades after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The Jews were scattered across the nations and that should have been the end of it. But it's not. Israel is back, and much of the conflict in the world today is centered around Israel. How odd is that? Anyway...
If that's the case, and the end times are here, the Bible warns that the changing world we live in today is a sign that great evil will soon be unleashed on the world, as written in the Book of Revelation, the last chapter of the Bible.
Revelation is a future prophecy, for a future time. What if that time is here, right now? We've seen the false prophets and the false Christs, which is a sign the Bible warns to look for. Harold Camping and his May, 21 2011 false prophecy came and went.
We see a world in turmoil, and a religion (Islam) with radical fundamentalist followers hell-bent on world domination. Really? Yes, that's what the Koran teaches them.
Continued below...

Now surely if this plan for world domination wasn't ordained, they would see the ridiculousness of their beliefs, yet they believe it all the same. Radical Islam shares the same beliefs as those of the Ayatollahs of Iran, men of power and resources, and armies, and of course Iran's President, Ahmadinejad. By now most people are familiar with Ahmadinejad's previous threats to destroy Israel and the West, and then his obvious cover-ups for those threats when he says he wants to talk peace. It continues today.
The Man of Peace ... who Destroys Many
By the way, that is also a sign of the end times. There will be a world leader, possessed by Satan, who talks about "peace" but ends up destroying many, many people.
Could this be Ahmadinejad?
In the Bible, this man of "peace" isn't alone, and many nations stand alongside him. Coincidentally, many of America's enemies are allies of Iran, and two other powerful nations - Russia and China - seem to be in bed with Iran. They're on the UN Security Council and multiple times have vetoed UN votes in regards to Iran on certain sanctions. These are the moves of allies, and of course both nations do business with Iran, involving large weapons sales. Not a good sign.
I personally don't believe Ahmadinejad is the Anti-Christ. I believe that it's probably going to be the "messiah" that so much of Iran and Radical Islamic followers are waiting for. It's not Jesus they're waiting for, though they are waiting for a figure named Jesus also (they believe that Jesus will be their messiah's "lieutenant"). Sound comical? Do some research on this. It's true. They believe their messiah is coming (also called the "Mahdi"), and he will arrive at a time of widespread chaos and bloodshed. Which is one reason why America's Homeland Security fears attacks from Islamic terrorists, and why that threat is never going to go away.
The terrorists will only keep coming, and keep trying.
Back to that Cabin and Protecting Your Food Supplies...
Ok, so we digressed a bit. But now you understand (if you're new to SecretsofSurvival.com) why we believe the "last days" or "end times" from the Bible are here, and we're warning people to be prepared. Prepare your homes in case of disaster. Surely people in Japan, Haiti, the American Mid West states (struck by tornadoes) and other areas that have been hit by growing natural disasters (there are many places in the last few years)
regret not having taken the time for disaster preparedness.
But don't just prepare yourself with food and survival supplies, in case of a natural disaster or terrorist attack in your region, but also prepare yourself spiritually.
Spiritual Survival
You prepare yourself spiritually by getting your life right with God, and repenting from your life of sin. The Bible says "the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus". The Apostle Paul promised that faithful believers would escape the wrath of God, and to look forward to the coming of Christ with great hope as "he rescues us from the coming wrath".
The Tribulation, God's Time of Wrath (as described by the Prophet Daniel in the Old Testament) is believed by many theologians to last seven years. In Revelation, it appears to begin with a quarter of the world's population dying from war, plague, famine, and wild beasts (when the Fourth Seal is opened in Chapter 6 of Revelation). Add "natural disasters" to that list as well, as events indicating significant natural disasters are referenced in different chapters of Revelation.
Later on in the seven year Tribulation, the wrath of God becomes even more severe, and appears to include nuclear war and even an asteroid or comet striking the earth. Lots of death, lots of terror.
When was the last time you read the Book of Revelation? Guess what, you can read it online on www.biblegateway.com (Just type in "Revelation 1" into the search bar.)
You may have a hard time making sense of it though. Revelation has to be revealed to you by God - if that sounds too weird, will it's a basic Christian tenet to faith. Christians believe that the Bible can only be understood when God reveals it. Until then we are "blind" to the Bible, and it doesn't make sense.
