There are some people in this world who are truly deplorable.
We all know them. Those people in our neighborhood or within our social reach that cheat on their spouses, treat their families like second class citizens, and drink or gamble away the family fortune. Of course, we've all likely seen more and worse.
Then there is Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda. Even with Bin Laden gone, taken out by a team of Navy Seals, his desires live on through the men and women who will give their lives in the name of Radical Islam. When it comes to these people - if you can even call them that - the word deplorable hardly serves to do their evil intentions and actions justice. And to think that Bin Laden used religion as the basis from which to spin his message.
So for all of you that have forgotten September 11th and the horrors of that day, here is a wake up call. For all of you that believe we are truly safe and the government is merely spinning terrorism in a way to provoke fear, please understand one thing.
Al Qaeda planning to kill our children
First, it would seem important to understand Osama bin Laden's goal. According to former FBI agent Paul L. Williams (and many other sources) Bin Laden's goal was/is to kill at least four million Americans, of which two million must be children. Only then does he believe that the atrocities done unto Muslims and Arabs by America will be avenged.
How many of you out there knew that? Further, if he's saying it, why wouldn't you believe it? Bin Laden said that he wanted to hurt America before September 11th. Did Al Qaeda follow through?
Yes, they did. But just in case words and past actions aren't enough. . .
School buses and terrorists
The FBI recently issued an informational bulletin to state and local officials indicating that they should watch for terrorists - actually it said people tied to extremist groups - trying to earn licenses to drive school buses. In fact, it appears that members of extremist groups have already signed up as school bus drivers.
Later, a Department of Homeland Security official told Fox News that "at this time there is no evidence that any of these individuals got these jobs, or got hold of school buses."
Yes, that may be true. But this, of course, begs a very important question.
Why do you think that extremists would want school bus licenses in the first place?

Terrorists training to take over schools
Unfortunately, the evidence that terrorists mean to do our children harm does not stop with school buses. Consider this.
In 2001 videos of terrorists training were found in Afghanistan. In these videos, terrorists were actually witnessed practicing to take over a school.
Does anything else really need to be said? Well, just in case.
Islamic terrorists have already taken hold of a school and murdered children.
In 2004, 100 Islamic terrorists invaded a school in Beslan, Russia. During the siege, 344 people were murdered. Of these, 186 were children.
In other words, a little more than half. Or course, most Muslims around the world were sickened by the carnage, and condemned the attacks.
Iraqi National Caught with Information on American School Districts
In 2004 - according to an April article by Phil Ponder of the Cincinnati Enquirer - an Iraqi national was taken into custody. No big deal: that happens all the time.
But ask yourself this. Do these Iraqis often have detailed American school district information, because this one did? Perhaps one might feel the full weight of this if they thought of the whole issue in a different light.
Do you know what your child's school district crisis protocols are? Because apparently some guy in Iraq does.
Finally, in 2006 Saudi men actually boarded a high school bus
Someone should probably explain this one in greater depth. After all, shouldn't high school kids and bus drivers know the people that ride their bus in the first place? How did these people actually make it onto the bus?
Regardless, these men (23 and 20 years of age) were both charged with trespassing on school grounds as unlawful riders on a school bus. They were taken to Wharton High School in Tampa while on the bus.
Apparently, these guys had several versions of why they needed to take a school bus to get to a high school and initially lied about their country of origin. Fishy, no?
In sum, Al Qaeda wants to do American children harm. Thus, we are still at risk from terrorists; perhaps more so now then ever before. Because is there really anything even close to important to us as our children?
Of course, we all know the answer to that.
